New Smplcty™ Device Connection Connectors – Direct PCB Contacting with IP54 Protection

Schalksmühle, November 2026. Lumberg is expanding its portfolio with two new device connection solutions under the name Smplcty™. The new connectors 835106 and 835706 are based on the proven RAST 2.5 and RAST 2.5 Power systems. They enable direct PCB contacting through a pluggable, overmolded device connector with an IP54-rated seal to the device housing. This allows Lumberg to combine the advantages of established RAST technology with a space-saving, easy-to-assemble solution for connecting external cables to electronic devices.

The key feature of the new Smplcty™ connectors is their ability to contact the PCB directly. Instead of requiring an additional socket mounted on the PCB, the spring contacts of the device connector engage directly with the corresponding PCB. This eliminates the need for additional components and assembly steps, simplifies the design of the device electronics, reduces assembly effort, and creates opportunities for cost optimization. At the same time, the overmolded connector design, combined with the seal to the device housing, provides an IP54-rated connection.

Two Versions for Different Power Requirements

The seven-position 835106 connector, based on RAST 2.5 with a 2.5 mm contact pitch, offers a compact solution for applications requiring multiple electrical connections. It is rated for currents of 5 A at 25 °C and 3 A at 60 °C and features a halogen-free PUR cable with seven 0.35 mm² conductors.

For applications with higher current requirements, Lumberg offers the four-position 835706 series based on RAST 2.5 Power. With a contact pitch of 5.0 mm, it supports rated currents of 10.6 A at 25 °C and 7.2 A at 60 °C. This version features a halogen-free PVC cable with four 0.75 mm² conductors. Both versions are designed for a rated voltage of 50 V and direct contacting of PCBs with a thickness of 1.5 mm.

Flexible Integration into Different Device Designs

Another advantage for device manufacturers is the ability to customize the connection cables. Both the cable length and the cable end configuration can be specified according to customer requirements. This allows the new Smplcty™ connectors to be integrated into a wide range of connection and installation concepts. Direct PCB contacting, a protected device housing interface, and customizable cables make these new versions particularly attractive for devices requiring a compact design, cost-efficient assembly, and reliable electrical connections.

Smplcty™ gives device manufacturers additional options for integrating proven RAST connectivity technology directly into the device interface.
