Shanghai/Schalksmühle, September 2026. A special honor for an exceptional connectivity solution: Lumberg’s RAST 1.5 connector system received the prestigious “Key Components & Manufacturing Process Award for Automotive Lighting” at the DVN Shanghai Lighting Workshop on September 8–9, 2026. This is the first award ever presented to RAST 1.5—and an achievement the company is especially proud of. The honor recognizes not only an innovative product but also the engineering expertise, technical know-how, and dedication of the people behind this connectivity solution.

With RAST 1.5—the only system of its kind available worldwide—Lumberg has taken its proven RAST connection technology to the next level. The compact connector system requires approximately 43 percent less installation space than RAST 2.5, creating new opportunities for the continued miniaturization of electronic assemblies. This is a decisive advantage in modern vehicle architectures, where an increasing number of electronic functions must fit into limited space. At the same time, RAST 1.5 combines its compact design with the established benefits of RAST technology: reliable electrical connections, efficient processing, and cost-effective integration into industrial manufacturing processes.

International Recognition from the Automotive Lighting Industry

Markus Cramer, Business Development Manager at Lumberg Electronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., accepted the award in person. It was presented by Huang Yi of the Pan-Asian Technical Automotive Center (PATAC).
