Schalksmühle, Mai 2025. – With the new connector type 3525, Lumberg is presenting another solution for secure connection technology in applications with the highest demands on mechanical stability. The RAST 2.5 connector for individual conductors impresses with its compact design and, above all, its remarkable mechanical locking on the PCB.

The outstanding feature: Lateral locking hooks secure the connector firmly on the PCB – with an enormous retaining force of at least 80 N. This exceptionally strong latching offers maximum security even in the event of strong vibrations or shocks and makes the 3525 the ideal choice for demanding automotive applications. This RAST 2.5 system extension also features a new side wall option: the new side wall variant extends the modular RAST 2.5 interface and thus meets current market requirements for flexible and space-saving connector solutions.

Thanks to contacting using insulation displacement technology (IDT), individual conductors with a cross-section of 0.22 to 0.38 mm² can be connected easily and efficiently. The optional coding and the option of closed side walls guarantee a reliable connection without mismating.

The new connector has been tested in accordance with the LV214 automotive standard and is compatible with standard Lumberg harnessing equipment. This makes the 3525 ideal and efficient for use up to high volume production.
